摘要: Abstract Objective To examine the access to renal transplant waiting list and transplantation in Scotland. Design Cohort study. Setting Renal units Participants 4523 adults starting replacement therapy Scotland between 1 January 1989 31 December 1999. Main outcome measures Impact of age, sex, social deprivation, primary disease, or unit, geography on transplantation. Results 1736 (38.4%) patients were placed for 1095 (24.2%) underwent up 2000, end study period. Patients less likely be if they female, older, had diabetes, a high deprivation category, treated unit hospital with no unit. living furthest away from centre listed more quickly. The only factors governing once year listing. A significant effect was found Conclusions major disparity exists Comorbidity may an important factor.
