摘要: Parentage-based tagging (PBT) is a promising alternative to traditional coded-wire tag (CWT) methodologies for monitoring and evaluating hatchery stocks. This approach involves the genotyping of broodstock uses parentage assignments identify origin brood year their progeny. In this study we empirically confirmed that fewer than 100 single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) were needed accurately conduct PBT, demonstrated our selected panel SNPs was comparable in accuracy microsatellites, verified stock made with matched those using CWTs. We also when sampling spawners incomplete, an estimated PBT rate offspring could be predicted SNPs. Snake River basin one first large-scale implementations salmonids lays foundation adopting technology more broadly region, thereby allowing unprecedented ability mark millions smolts opportunity address variety parentage-based research management questions. Resume : Le marquage base sur l'ascendance est une solution de rechange interessante aux methodes traditionnelles reposant les micromarques magnetisees codees pour la surveillance et l'evaluation des stocks issus d'ecloseries.
