摘要: Tumor-tumor distant interactions within one organism are of major clinical relevance determining outcome. To investigate this poorly understood phenomenon, a double human cervical xenograft model in nude mice was developed. A first tumor induced subcutaneously by injection papillomavirus positive carcinoma cells into the mouse lower right flank and 3 weeks later, animals were challenged with same cell line injected upper left flank. These tumors had no direct physical contact we found systemic changes primary affecting growth secondary tumor. However, ablation local treatment cidofovir, nucleotide analogue known antiviral antiproliferative properties, resulted not only antitumor effect but also temporary far-reaching leading to retarded Cidofovir effects linked reduced tumor-driven inflammation, increased anti-tumor immune responses, could be enhanced co-administration stimulating adjuvants. Our findings point potential use cidofovir novel therapeutic strategies aiming kill as well influence system fight cancer.
