摘要: Pectoral implantation of transvenous non-thoracotomy internal cardioverter defibrillators (ICD) has resulted in very few complications whether placed subpectorally or subcutaneously. We report the case a 68 year old man with implanted MINI-plus (Cardiac Pacemakers, Incorporated, St. Paul, Mn.) ICD who developed nearly instantaneous severe ipsilateral shoulder pain and immobilization. The symptoms progressed despite aggressive physical therapy. elected to remove device from pectoral site place it traditional abdominal position due severity, duration refractoriness his symptoms. This procedure utilized chronic Endotak DSP (Model 0125, Cardiac Incorporated) lead, compatible lead extender 6952, above described ICD. Immediate relief was accomplished by relocation an site. intervention should be reserved for patients severely debilitating Prospective comparison subpectoral subcutaneous surgical approaches respect patient comfort acceptance may warranted.
