摘要: Tooth wear is a universal experience. The cause usually combination of erosion, attrition and abrasion. Attrition presents with flattened incisal occlusal tooth surfaces which accurately inter-digitate. Erosion from dietary or gastric acids forms smooth lesions typically appear as cupped occlusal/ concave buccal/facial surfaces. When combined abrasion, have the potential to significant wear. Wear reduces thickness enamel exposing underlying dentine changing colour white yellow dentine. Acids causing erosion originate stomach diet. Gastric acid associated reflux disease eating disorders. frequency acidic foods drinks how they are consumed important in erosion. progression recognised be slow periods activity inactivity. Although restorations can indicated, prevention monitoring remain strategies maintaining life teeth.
