摘要: Modern wildlife conservation and management requires accurate methods for population census monitoring. In this work, we estimated the roe deer (Capreolus capreolus) of Quintos de Mora (Toledo, Spain) in two close areas: one open other fenced. For estimates used capture-recapture models photo-identification males by camera traps on feeding points summer 2012. We both a classic non-spatially explicit spatially (SECR) capturerecapture models. Maximum-likelihood estimations MLE Bayesian approaches were cases. area, varied between 0.50 ± 0.14 (SECR approach) 1.04 (classic individuals per square kilometer, whereas fenced area 7.58 0.34 (classical 11.25 3.05 kilometer. Finally compared our with direct counts. Although resulted consistent recommend use SECR avoiding sampling misspecifications.
