Artificial Saliva in Diabetic Xerostomia (ASDIX): Double Blind Trial of Aldiamed® Versus Placebo

摘要: Xerostomia is a symptom frequently present in patients with type 1 (T1DM) and 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM). In the trial, activity of an artificial saliva (aldiamed® spray) comparison to placebo spray were used evaluate xerostomia antioxidant capacity (SAT). Sixty both genders T1DM or T2DM randomized into two groups 30 subjects each. The experiment was double-blind study approved by Ethics Committee "G. d'Annunzio University" Chieti Pescara. Moreover, measurements stimulated flow rate ultrasonography submandibular parotid glands performed at time points. results demonstrated statistically significant differences between treatments terms average score. Specifically, values baseline after days 2.9 ± 1.31 3.0 1.44 1.4 1.48 2.4 0.99 for aldiamed® placebo, respectively. Meanwhile, no shown other variables, such as salivary rate, saliva, major glands.
