摘要: Over the last forty years there has been a transformation in gender composition of UK workforce as women are increasingly likely to be paid employment for major part their adult lives. Women have entered an increasing range occupations and sectors secured high level positions within some firms organisations. Yet imbalances remain with respect scale form remuneration. In many ways organisation workplace domestic division labour retain imprint male breadwinner society which presents challenge equity more generally. So despite progress concerns regarding segregation, value women’s work uneven labour. These recurring themes literature over so processes leading these outcomes merit continued attention. This paper is divided into two sections: patterns progress; challenges make tentative recommendations by way conclusion. It was commissioned IES its Visiting Fellows scheme, marking Institute's 40th anniversary.
