摘要: The pathogenesis of dengue haemorrhagic fever (DHF) is incompletely understood but it has been suggested that various cytokines may have a role in the process. In this study profile cytokine Transforming Growth Factor-beta 1 (TGF-beta1) was investigated sera 79 patients with grades illness and 21 normal healthy controls. Also, TGF-beta1-specific mRNA examined their peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMC). results showed neither TGF-beta1 protein nor its were detected patients, 96%. However, among patient groups, levels lowest (DF; mean value 315 +/- 95 pg/ml) highest DHF grade IV (mean 1350 280 pg/ml; P = < 0. 001). appeared during first four days (304 90 gradually increased, reaching peak (1050 215 after 9th day illness. Thus TGF-beta1-mRNA PBMC present most (96%) later periods IV, suggesting possible DHF.
