摘要: Abstract A thin CdTe thermal neutron detector has been developed and its suitability for imaging investigated. Simulations of the interaction neutrons with a 0.5 mm-thick demonstrate advantages using 96 keV prompt gamma rays produced by capture in 113 Cd as event. Specifically, they provide high spatial resolution approximately same detection efficiency 558 keV rays, which are commonly used detecting detectors. We fabricated detector. Measurements 133 Ba gamma-ray source revealed that energy 3 keV at 80 keV, while measurements 252 Cf demonstrated good neutron/gamma ray discrimination.
