Roughness optimization of flow-formed tubes using the Taguchi method

摘要: The present study reports the effect of various flow-forming process parameters and roller geometry on roughness flow-formed tubes commercial pure copper UNS C11000. Thickness reduction ratio, feed rate, angular speed mandrel, attack angle roller, tip radius, smooth were considered as variable parameters. effects these input have been critically analyzed using Taguchi method. Through ANOVA analysis, it has found that radius is most important parameter affecting followed by thickness ratio. Selection an optimum combination was performed based “average results.” minimum 1.37 μm achieved when set at their values.
