摘要: Abstract From a resource-based view, this paper investigates sustainability integration across multiple tiers in two Italian luxury supply chains producing fashion and leather footwear, complex fragmented industry sector that is highly dependent upon raw materials human skills base. Qualitative in-depth interview data were collected from senior informants within 10 businesses, spanning chain tiers. Industry practices are systematically decomposed into product, process levels to analyse sustainability. Findings reveal product-level focused on more than design initiatives, with operational benefits of cost reduction market consumer value-add. Process-level water energy motivated by environmental concerns. At level, traceability projects supplier audits limited lack end-to-end visibility, despite the criticality evidence close long-term trading relationships. Supply transparency engagement critical areas for development. Both technical relational resources must be developed networks. Current geared towards reducing negative impacts associated current operations, falling short radical strategies needed address root causes embrace at large.
