Transactive Memory Theory: A Review of the Literature and Suggestions for Future MIS Research

摘要: In this paper, we analyze extant literature to assess the state of transactive memory theory research and report preliminary findings our in progress. Based on prevalent themes identified literature, content 52 articles at individual, group, organizational levels analysis, identify several future MIS opportunities. Our show that such as knowledge directories, transferring didactically, pooling centrally, have received majority focus. Future may investigate how information systems can enhance human abilities system relieve cognitive strain individual capacity. Additional could examine effects technologies relationship between performance outcomes large groups or organizations. investigation these topics will serve both extend operationalize settings.
