SOLIDARITY IN CONTEMPORARY BIOETHICS – TOWARDS A NEW APPROACH

摘要: This paper, which is based on an extensive analysis of the literature, gives a brief overview main ways in solidarity has been employed bioethical writings last two decades. As vagueness term one targets critique, we propose new approach to defining solidarity, identifying it primarily as practice enacted at interpersonal, communal, and contractual/legal levels. Our three-tier model can also help explain way crises occur, notably when formal solidaristic arrangements continue exist despite ‘lower tiers’ practices inter-personal communal levels having ‘broken away’. We hope that this contribution growing debate potential for value tackle issues bioethics beyond, will stimulate further discussion involving both conceptual empirically informed perspectives.
