摘要: Treated jointly, two recent results imply that the distribution of winds in polar ionosphere should change as a function direction interplanetary magnetic field. (1) From motions chemically released ion and neutral clouds, it is apparent high latitude are driven principally by drag forces. (2) OGO-6 electric field measurements have demonstrated there definite relationships between time-latitude ionospheric plasma convection parameters, also most sensitive to azimuthal angle Although direct wind comparisons not available, logic clearly implies close relationship. The lower altitude, meteorological effects these externally known. However, observations infrasonic waves following sudden ionization enhancements indicate existence momentum transfer.
