摘要: Pore water concentration gradients and fluxes of chemical components have been studied in sediments from six intertidal sites the Tamar Estuary, SW England over course a year. Fluxes nutrients (ammonia, nitrate, nitrite, phosphate silicate) trace metals (iron, manganese, zinc, copper cadmium) were determined using laboratory microcosm incorporatingin situ pore samplers. Nutrients (except nitrate) transported out sediment throughout year, but nitrate directed into summer (denitrification) winter (nitrification). The activities benthic macrofauna resulted enhanced these differed between depending on population structure density whether irrigation or reworking predominated. seasonally spatially variable specific differences observed that could be attributed to both biological activity.
