摘要: Abstract Background Stage III empyema still a problem that thoracic surgeons should deal with. We try to reduce the postoperative pain and hospital stay for those patients with using minimal invasive approach in every case. Methods Prospective study of all cases assigned one surgeon diagnosis turbid and/or hemorrhagic pleural effusion showed loculations thick peal or failed simple chest tube drainage admitted our surgery service. An informed consent was taken trial thoracoscopic procedure (VATS) possibility open case thoracoscopy fail proceed. Operative technique completely remove fibrous peel at surface lung without parietal decortication. Results Forty-seven who met inclusion criteria were study, 38 males 9 females. Mean age 45.32 (17-82 years). Twenty-eight need only debridement lysis fine adhesions visceral The remaining 19 subjected VATS Of decortication, 2 (10.52%) conversion thoracotomy converted from uniportal ports approach. All decorication discharged mean days 5.42 (2-30 days). operative time decortication 116.68 min (86-140 min). Conclusions is no longer an absolute contraindication fact not preoperative stage might Moreover, feasible reasonable time, short mortality compared historical control.
