摘要: Abstract The recently developed quasiconfiguration method is applied to fp shell nuclei. Second order degenerate perturbation theory shown be sufficient produce, for low lying states, the same results as large diagonalizations in full ( f 7 2 p 3 1 5 ) n space, due operation of linked cluster mechanisms. Realistic interactions with minimal monopole changes are successful reproducing spectra, binding energies, quadrupole moments and transition rates. Large model spaces seen exhibit typical many body behaviour. Quasiconfigurations allow insight into underlying coupling schemes.
