Pressure dependence of the solubilities of anthracene and phenanthrene in water at 25°C

摘要: Solubilities of anthracene and phenanthrene in water were measured at 298.15K pressures to 200 MPa found decrease with increasing pressure.From the pressure coefficients solubilities, volume changesaccompanying dissolution estimated be 15.1±0.6 cm3-mol−1 for anthraceneand 12.4±0.3 phenanthrene. The partial molar volumes thesesolutes are presumed pressure, contrary thenegative compressibility alkylbenzenes previously observed water. Volumechanges accompanying hydrophobic hydration also 1.4cm3-mol−1 4.1 phenanthrene, respectively. Thesepositive values opposite negative ones usually hydrophobichydration. structure these hydrocarbons is discussed.
