摘要: Abstract Objective To compare the treatment outcomes of women with high-grade squamous intraepithelial lesions (HSIL) who underwent immediate loop electrosurgical excision procedure (LEEP) and those had directed biopsies prior to subsequent LEEP. Methods Women were referred for HSIL 2 centers in southeast Nigeria examined via colposcopy. Those positive colposcopic findings randomized receive either LEEP (see-and-treat group) or (3-step group). biopsy-confirmed results follow-up Overtreatment rate, cost, default cytology–treatment interval compared between groups. Results In total, 314 included study. The overtreatment rate was similar Treatment cost significantly higher 3-step group ( P  = 0.0001). lower see-and-treat Most (219 [69.7%]) participants preferred approach. Conclusion Immediate is cheaper, less time-consuming, associated better patient compliance than management procedure. Furthermore, it does not lead overtreatment. approach may be ideal low-resource countries.
