Long-term results with vein homograft in femoro-distal arterial reconstructions

摘要: There still is a need for an alternative to autologous vein especially infra-inguinal vascular reconstructions. Since 1984 we have used denaturated venous homograft in patients whom the saphenous was either absent or unsuitable. One hundred and five homografts were implanted femoro-popliteal 51 femoro-infrapopliteal position. The results obtained satisfactory, with 5-year cumulative patency (life-table method) of 53% overall, 68.4% disabling claudication, 42% those critical ischaemia. aneurysm rate rather high, at 18% after 3 years 58% 5 years. An excellent limb salvage 85% achieved management graft aneurysms indications reconstructive surgery are discussed.
