摘要: Abstract The hamster cheek pouch (HCP) serves as an excellent model system not only for the studies on initiation and promotion but also modulation of experimental oral carcinogenesis. In our studies, HCPs treated with 7,12‐dimethylbenz[a]anthracene (DMBA) showed both stomach papillomas. Utilizing this system, we tested compared modulatory effects snuff, retinoic acid, s‐carotene incidence tumors keratin expression pattern. either alone or in combination DMBA, resulted snuff no tumors, those DMBA 10–15 % tumor incidence. Both acid a total inhibition DMBA‐induced carcinogenesis HCP well stomach. pattern alterations depending conditions.
