摘要: Summary We present a computer model of network-interference theory memory for single-digit multiplication and addition facts. According to the model, presented problem activates representations large number related arithmetic facts, with strength activation specific facts determined by similarity problem. Similarity is assumed be based on both physical codes (e.g., common visual or phonological features) visuo-spatial magnitude codes. Nodes representing numerical that are continuously activated compete way mutual inhibition until one reaches critical threshold triggers response. The counteracting processes excitation in reproduce response time error phenomena observed skilled general form representational structures proposed simulation provide natural extension other areas cognitive associated research.
