摘要: Summary In vibrios and enterobacteria lateral gene transfer is often facilitated by integrating conjugative elements (ICEs) of the SXT/R391 family. ICEs integrate site-specific recombination into prfC conjugation, a process that initiated at specific locus called origin (oriTSXT). We identified genomic islands (GIs) harbouring sequence shares > 63% identity with oriTSXT in three species Vibrio. Unlike ICEs, these GIs are integrated coding for putative stress-induced protein do not appear to carry any machinery or mobilization proteins. Our results show trigger excision mediate trans Vibrio high frequency. GIs' independent ICE-encoded recombinase controlled transcriptional activator SetCD, which expressed during host SOS response. Both mobI traI, two ICE-borne genes involved oriT recognition, essential transfer. also found mobilize over 1 Mb chromosomal DNA located 5′ integration site. Together support novel mechanism
