摘要: The maintenance of High Nature Value (HNV) farming is a priority for reaching the target halting biodiversity loss in European Union by 2020. Nevertheless, since introduction HNV concept early 1990s and first call farmland indicators 2000, has continued to decline many parts Europe. main processes behind this are agricultural intensification abandonment. Past current subsidies conservation measures have mainly failed safeguard respective systems. In paper, we revise approaches localizing characterizing farming, identify shortcomings describe next generation indicators; show how related existing concepts aimed at conservation; provide an overview EU policy instruments that could help preserve farming. We finish outlining which steps should be taken so remains part our modern landscape.
