Electron beam therapy in treatment of parotid neoplasm

摘要: Summary In a retrospective analysis, 42 patients with malignant primary tumor of the parotid gland were evaluated considering survival, local recurrence and tolerance treatment. All referred to radiotherapy treated by electron beam (10–15 MeV) followed for more than 5 years. Postoperative after radical operation, no macroscopic disease, was performed in 18 patients, 7 whom re-operation radiation recurrent neoplasm. these groups, rate 4/18 (22%) 2/7 (29%), 5-year survival 9/18 (50%) 5/7 (71%). 17 started gross left behind. This group showed 10/17 (59%) 7/17 (41%). Treatment well tolerated major sequelae. Local control its impact on is discussed.
