摘要: Many wireless network protocols and algorithms rely on estimations of the link capacity in order to make informed decisions routing data packets, selection optimal transmission rate, flow admission control. In this paper we present an investigation into our Effective Link Capacity (ELC) metric which combines use MAC layer monitoring with knowledge timing specifications provide accurate model conditions. We subject resulting experimental across a range conditions using conducted testbed. demonstrate that commodity devices do not conform IEEE 802.11 specification, thus making modeling difficult. Given ELC 802.11s Airtime are directly related, compare their accuracy estimating capacity. significantly outperforms two widely-used implementations Airtime.
