摘要: The objective of this prospective study was to assess changes Quality Life (QoL) in patients undergoing bimaxillary orthognathic surgery. Questionnaires were based on the Oral Health Impact Profile (OHIP, items OH-1-OH-14) and three additional questions (items AD-1-3), completed by (n=50; mean age 26.9±9.9 years) average 9.1±2.4 months before surgery, 12.1±1.4 after using a scoring scale. Item scores describing functional limitation, physical pain, disability chewing function did not change significantly, whereas item covering psychological discomfort social domains revealed significant decreases following AD-2 "dissatisfying aesthetics" greatest difference between pre- post-surgical (p<0.001). If there perception aesthetic improvement facial features post-surgery, benefit QoL generally high. correlation OH-5 "self conscious" nearly all other suggested that most sensitive indicator for QoL. Psychological factors aesthetics exerted strong influence patients' QoL, determined major more than aspects did.
