摘要: Poly(3-hydroxybutyrate) (PHB) is a polyester of 3-hydroxybutyric acid (HB) that ubiquitously present in all organisms. In higher eukaryotes PHB found the length 10 to 100 HB units and can be free form as well association with proteins inorganic polyphosphate. It has been proposed mediate ion transport across lipid bilayer membranes. We investigated ability interact living cells isolated mitochondria effects these interactions on membrane transport. performed experiments using fluorescein derivative (fluo-PHB). fluo-PHB preferentially accumulated inside HeLa cells. Accumulation induced mitochondrial depolarization. This depolarization was significantly delayed by inhibitor permeability transition pore - Cyclosporin A. Further intact confirmed directly linked its facilitate transport, including calcium, conclude demonstrates ionophoretic properties biological membranes this effect most profound due selective accumulation polymer organelle.
