摘要: Mucosal surfaces are continuously exposed to a diverse environmental microflora. Yet, infections fairly rare and health is maintained. So, how this achieved? Many effectors of the host defense have converged at mucosal sites cooperate resist onslaught pathogens. These commonly assigned two categories; specific or ‘’innate‘’ defenses. Specific immunity executed by different lymphocyte populations in response microbial antigens. The term ‘’innate’’ used denote defenses, which lack antigen specificity, but execute their functions through effector molecules with highly specialized anti-microbial activity. While many aspects mechanisms been worked out vitro , we understand relatively little about contribution resistance vivo given infection site.
