摘要: Abstract A new species of the littoral cheloniid turtle Euclastes, E. acutirostris, is proposed, on basis a skull from Palaeocene Phosphates Morocco, first record Sidi Chennane area. It estimated to be Danian-Thanetian in age, possibly younger than previous Danian Moroccan specimens Euclastes. differs other Euclastes mainly by more elongated and narrower snout, forming small hook, presence long narrow spur-shaped postero-inferior process jugal, better delimiting lateral emargination medially shorter palate, relation American Palaeogene specimens. This study indicates necessity for world-wide revision “Euclastes group” order redefine taxa. shows potential interest group radiation dispersion faunas Tethysian Atlantic margins during Cretaceous -Tertiary turnover.
