Coverage evaluation of an AIS radio receiver station for traffic control onto the Magdalena River in Colombia

摘要: This article performs a proposed design of communications system based on the Automatic Identification System (AIS), to control ships crossing Magdalena River in Colombia. Ships river will be monitored order track them real time and receive information related (course, ship type, dimensions, speed, destiny, etc.). In this paper are presented studies concerning geography with aim establish parameters location base stations. Moreover, it is selected scenario specific place along river, which some simulations were made, obtain signal levels verify coverage each case.
