摘要: RNA interference (RNAi) is a natural cellular phenomenon in which double stranded (dsRNA) recognised as foreign by virtue of its conformation and thus sets motion chain events the dsRNA mRNA homologue are degraded. This leads to silencing targeted gene. First described for microbivorous nematode Caenorhabditis elegans, RNAi has emerged powerful tool investigating gene function range organisms. Practical applications proposed include genetic improvement crop plants create novel resistance plant pathogens. Recent studies have successful application parasitic nematodes. Key developments last year demonstrated that plantaexpression double-stranded can target feeding nematode, inducing effect. When an essential this level resistance, paving way potential use technology control
