摘要: Over the years, role of Wingless-int (Wnt) signaling pathway during embryogenesis has been focus many researchers, its being fundamental for physiological organogenesis. More recently, adulthood, Wnt found to be involved in regulation a myriad cellular processes, including motility, proliferation, differentiation, survival, and apoptosis. It is therefore unsurprising that when this becomes aberrant through anomalous cancer ensues. Indeed, developmental cancers blood, thyroid, breast, lung, prostate, colon. Key plays stem cell fates, all within tightly regulated “niches.” Careful dissection various mechanisms controlling subsequent understanding their functional significance tissue homeostasis; how it affects cells may contribute carcinogenesis will result new molecular-based disease markers novel therapeutic agents specifically target these diseases.
