摘要: Abstract Bonding of rapidly expanded polypropylene (PP) remains poor unless a special pretreatment the PP substrate is performed. In past mainly chemical primers were used. A replacement this type by plasma offers advantages from an environmental viewpoint. From present investigations, where parameters systematically varied, it can be concluded that very short exposure to and new curing conditions led best results. The lap shear (bond) strength after became even higher than primer pretreatment. ESCA analyses ultrasonic C-scan fracture areas It was found long weakened boundary layer. showed failure pretreated bonds appears different at specimens. Another important finding — especially practical viewpoint beneficial effect before bonding lasted in laboratory environment much longer
