摘要: Objective Interleukin-1 beta (IL-1β) has been implicated in the pathophysiology of schizophrenia. To assess whether IL1B gene confers increased susceptibility to schizophrenia, we conducted case–control and family-based studies an updated meta-analysis. Methods We tested association between schizophrenia 1229 112 trio samples using 12 markers, including common tagging single nucleotide variations (SNVs) a rare non-synonymous variation detected by resequencing coding regions. We also performed meta-analysis rs16944 total 8724 201 from 16 independent populations. Results We found no significant associations any SNVs examined either or samples. Moreover, our results showed SNV, rs16944, schizophrenia. Conclusions The present study does not support role for susceptibility. Copyright © 2013 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.
