摘要: In a previous study, we observed that the variations in chromosome size are due to uneven expansion and contraction by comparing structures sizes of pair homoeologous high-resolution cytogenetic maps chromosomes 12A 12D tetraploid cotton. To reveal variation at sequence level, present paper, sequenced two pairs bacterial artificial derived from high- low-variable genomic regions. Comparisons their confirmed highly conserved divergent sequences existed distal pericentric regions, e.g., genome regions these cotton chromosomes. Sequence analysis also differential accumulation Gossypium retrotransposable gypsy-like element (Gorge3) accounted for main contributions difference between By fluorescence situ hybridization analysis, found Gorge3 has bias distribution AT/A proximal is associated with heterochromatin along entire genome. These results indicate that, DT/D genomes, usually possess high level conservation divergence, respectively,
