摘要: Abstract For an insulator chain and a multiple pendulum the equations of motion are given in descriptor form as differential-algebraic (DAEs) index 2 state space ordinary differential (ODEs). The performance two recently developed codes for numerical solution DAEs 2, extrapolation code MEXX Runge-Kutta HEM5, compared with classical ODE-codes. Although dimension is much larger than ODEs form, computing times comparable if sparse structure exploited. DAE-codes reliable Therefore, use recommended simulation constrained mechanical systems tree or few closed loops, since generation easier.
