摘要: Abstract The clean (100) surfaces of silver, gold, and palladium were studied as a function temperature from 25–830 °C. Several surface structures, ordered disordered, found which are stable only within well-defined ranges. structures form during annealing after ion bombardment. They parallel to the substrate characterized by lattice parameters integral multiples parameter. properties these can be explained assuming they comprised arrays vacancies situated in first atomic plane. produced intermediates greatly disordered surface. either ring-like diffraction patterns or appearance new spots. appear at high temperatures above stability range structure. removed Apparent interatomic distances assigned always larger smaller than nearest-neighbor distance substrates. Good correlations have been between gold platinum silver palladium, respectively.
