摘要: Background/Aims The finer branches of the biliary tree play an important role in regeneration. They are consistently escorted by microvessels. Defects vascularization these structures could impair bile duct Therefore, we investigated pattern escorting microvessels during development loss human liver, using chronic rejection as a model. Methods number interlobular ducts, ductules and extraportal cells with without expression VEGF-A were studied follow-up biopsies 12 patients 16 control acute progression to rejection. Results controls showed proliferation at 1-week 1-month. Proliferation preceded microvascular compartment followed proliferation. This sequence events was not observed group, which all decreased time. increased 1-month both groups. Conclusions An immediate proliferative response after injury seems be prerequisite for
