摘要: In this article we explore how certain religious messages may spur or constrain political participation. Specifically, test whether that provide individuals a positive self-image can act as stimulants, giving people sense of internal efficacy to participate in politics. We hypothesis through novel experimental design Nairobi, Kenya. find exposure self-affirmation typical Pentecostal and Charismatic churches motivated participation text message campaign. discuss implications these findings for politics Sub-Saharan Africa, well the study religion more generally.
