摘要: Quantifying biological aging is critical for understanding why the primary driver of morbidity and mortality assessing novel therapies to counter pathological aging. In past decade, many biomarkers relevant brain have been developed using various data types modeling techniques. Aging involves numerous interconnected processes, thus complementary are needed, each capturing a different slice biology. Here we present hierarchical framework highlighting how these related other underlying processes. We review those measures most studied in context aging: epigenetic clocks, proteomic neuroimaging age predictors. Many studies linked cognition, mental health, structure, pathology during also delve into challenges complexities interpreting suggest areas further innovation. Ultimately, robust mechanistic will be needed effectively intervene process prevent treat age-related disease.
