摘要: Implanted foreign bodies are highly susceptible to pyogenic infection. Whereas infection up 3 months after surgery is probably due perioperative bacterial contamination, little known about the pathogenesis of late prosthetic infections. We employed an animal model determine whether subcutaneously implanted were experimental bacteremia. Tissue cages into guinea pigs, which infected at earliest 4 weeks later by intracardiac injection Staphylococcus aureus Wood 46.
