摘要: Prolamins, the seed storage proteins of maize, sorghum and coix were also found in sugarcane. Prolamins are grouped into structurally distinct classes termed α-, β-, γ- δ-prolamins. Orthologues for almost all δ-prolamins identified In there two molecular weight α-prolamins, 22 19 kD α-zeins. Sugarcane possesses both which we denote as caneins, whereas contain only α-prolamin (α-kafirin α-coixin, respectively). Amino acid sequence alignments α-prolamins from these plants revealed that α-zein α-canein lack around 20 amino acids at sixth α-helix domain. We postulate originated a deletion counterpart saccharum lineage. Saccharum diverged five to nine million years ago (Mya), when existed. The must therefore have emerged after this time. Sorghum similar sugarcane but it contains domain lacking α-canein. This called kD-like α-kafirin be ancestor could is possible genes encoding evolved separately close groups.
