摘要: Sulfated polysaccharides exhibit many biological properties such as antiviral and anticoagulant activities. Herein, we report the activity of sulfated galactans extracted from red sea-weed Bostrychia montagnei against herpes simplex virus types 1 (strain F thymidine kinase-deficient strains Field B2006) 2 G). Two crude extracts obtained with cold hot water well some fractions by anion exchange chromatography, inhibited significantly replication different herpesviruses determined plaque reduction assays. The inhibitory effect compounds studied here took place only when they were added during adsorption period. They found to be highly selective substances, causing no impairment Vero cell viability. Furthermore, had direct inactivating on virions incubation in a virucidal assay. could correlated molecular weight sulfate content polysaccharides. Although are generally endowed properties, results activated partial thromboplastin time thrombine assays indicated that natural have very low activity, confirming there is relation between properties.
