摘要: British research on exit from the labour market has been mainly concerned with men, but US shows retirement for women is equally salient. Gender differences in attitudes to employment and reasons early are relevant pension policy.In this paper, we use data Social Change Economic Life Initiative survey examine gender among over 2,500 men aged 40 59. A key concern was discover whether decline mid-life women's through their fifties could be explained by a change age, or more likely due age-related barriers market.Analysis that people who were not employed, financial considerations predominant influence men's job-seeking whereas psychosocial aspects of having job also important. Mid-life showed no motivation towards indicating cannot reduced desire age. However, there evidence perceived age promotion which have affected behaviour attitudes.
