摘要: The effect of fibre orientation on the shock response a two-dimensional carbon fibre-epoxy composite has been studied using technique plate impact. In through-thickness orientation, it appears that material behaves as though is simple polymer. When one directions orientated parallel to loading axis, very different behaviour observed. stress pulse pronounced ramp, before at sufficiently high stresses, much faster rising occurs above it. Examination wave velocities suggests start ramp travels near constant velocity ca. 7.0 mm mu s(-1), whilst in this converges with orientation. Therefore, we believe separated into fast component down fibres, rest travelling matrix between 0 degrees fibres (epoxy plus normal axis). Finally, from Hugoniot, observed low intensities, was significantly stiffer than As severity increased, Hugoniots two orientations converged. would appear only effects equation state lower stresses.
