摘要: Two x‐ray methods have been developed for determining the crystallinity of cellulose using a Geiger counter spectrometer. The two were applied to six native cotton varieties, cross‐bred variety, and cottons chemically modified with ethylamine. scattering curves each nine samples compared those from highly crystalline sample, hydrolyzed in HCl, an amorphous sample provide relative measure crystallinity, or index. With fully corrected data average index varieties was found be 68.3 78.7% by correlation integral methods, respectively. indices remaining determined are, respectively, (S×P), 54.3 77.2%; treated anhydrous ethylamine, 29.7 50.9%; 75% aqueous 28.3 50.3%.
