摘要: Researchers have found, in studies carried out over several years, that many passengers and crew, following their recent flights commercial jet aeroplanes, become unwell, with a range of symptoms common. This condition, which has not yet been officially recognised, is called Aerotoxic Syndrome (AS). It seems to be caused, primarily, by neurotoxic organophosphates contaminating the air circulating cabins. Patients such may visit GPs, who then arrange diagnostic tests. Some fall within jurisdiction neurophysiological investigations, but neurophysiology practitioners unaware this syndrome. Until AS recognised as an illness, guidelines for procedures established, patients requiring specific investigations appropriately referred, or tests performed unnecessarily. report seeks stimulate debate field, facilitate studies, if needed, help define criteria.
