摘要: Camera-based photoplethysmography (cbPPG) is a novel measuring technique that permits the remote acquisition of cardiovascular signals using video cameras. Research still lacks in fundamental studies to reach deeper technical and physiological understanding. This work analyzes employment polarization filtration (i) assess gain for signal quality (ii) draw conclusions about cbPPG signal's origin. We evaluated various forehead regions 18 recordings with different color filter settings. Our results prove an optimal illumination, perpendicular setting provides significant benefit. The outcome supports theory arise from blood volume changes. For lateral ballistocardiographic effects dominate as polarization's impact vanishes.
